| As Thornton Wilder once said, "All good things must come to an end, but all bad things can continue forever," a quote that seems eerily appropriate for Locke & Key. While at times frighteningly dark and brutally violent, Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's Eisner-winning series has also sailed on winds of high fantasy and elaborate mystery, striking a mesmerizing balance and attracting a fervent and dedicated audience. While new issues may cease to appear before too long, the unique and vivid memories will live on in fans' minds and shelves forever.
"Locke & Key is the most fun I've ever had writing anything. It's been a Catherine's Wheel that throws off story possibilities instead of sparks and a part of me thinks I could live in Keyhouse forever. But I made a promise to t

HC: Hello again, let’s chat about Tower Bock. This is in total contrast to Cockney’s Vs Zombies; how do you approach a more serious piece?

Though the storyline seemed sort of familiar and the family situation seen in many demonic movies, The Possession was a wonderfully structured take on the possession genre. Noisy, with some great CGI effects the film kept the audience watching by having a solid cast both old and young. A nice addition to a section of the horror genre that was starting to look a little jaded.

Following this it's the welcome return to the big screen of Jennifer Lynch and her disturbing piece, Chained. Psychologically powerful this sees a young boy witness the death of his mother, forced to bury the body and live an existence where he is only released when he kills.

| Well American Mary proved to be a huge hit with the FrightFest crowd. This well structured and powerful horror had a dark tone throughout, lifted every now and again by some knock out humour.
Jen and Sylvia Soska have proven that Dead Hooker In A Trunk wasn't a one off and that they are a talented team ready to take their career to the next level.
The film's main plot concerns the uncomfortable subject of body modification and thanks to some grisly and very real looking prosthetic work the directors get their message across. This is helped no end by a stunning central performance from Katherine Isabelle who just owns the screen whenever she's one.
So let's hear for the Twisted Sisters, I can't wait to see what they do next.

| Tonight is dedicated to three movies that are universes apart in content but bound by the genre of horror.
Berberian Sound Studio (pictured) is the one making the most noise (ha ha) as it seems to be a Giallo fantasy set in the 70s with traces of surreal terror added to it. Seeing as though this is from Peter Strickland it's a must see as his films always ooze of invention.
Then it'll be the turn for Hollywood to get a look as the very polished Sinister gets its UK Premiere. From the director of the accomplished The Exorcism Of Emily Rose this looks to be a one where the big studios get it right. Fingers crossed.
As usual FrightFest has an eccentric Japanese flick for a late night slot

| Spain has once again triumphed at FrightFest. After the class act that was [REC]3 Genesis comes another beauty this time from the other original [REC] director, Jaume Balaguero.
Sleep Tight is a beautiful piece which is psychological horror at its finest. Balaguero, when he introduced the movie, insisted it wasn't exactly a horror flick. Sorry mate but it is and one of the most pure horror films I've seen in a long time and also one of the most accomplished.
Unassuming Cesar is janitor at an upscale apartment block in Barcelona. However, his quiet politeness hides a much more sinister personality. His current obsession is Clara, the new cheerful tenant on the fifth floor. At night when Clara is fast asleep, Cesar sneaks into h

| Remakes of classic or cult horror titles are always a bit of a sticky topic when discussing them with horror fans. So when we heard that there was to be a remake of the Bill Lustig shocker Maniac a lot of eyebrows were raised. Eyebrows raised even higher when it was announced that Elijah Wood would be taking on the role of scalp-hunting Frank.
Manic 2012 edition is shot entirely from the perspective of the killer and we only see his face when shown in a reflection or in photographs, CCTV etc. Quite a neat idea and for those of you who feared that it would lack the intensity and violence the original became known for will be pleased to hear that this actually raises the bar in the violence stakes!
The soundtrack nods to the works of Argento and seeing as this is f

We chatted to the directors, The Manetti Bros known to their family as Antonio and Marco about this and their other works.
HC: Have you always been horror movie fans and if so do you have a favourite director?

Now the characters are back in Outpost 2: Black Sun so we decided to talk to the writers Steve Barker and Rae Brunton about this and future Outpost movies.
HC: How did you two first meet?
RB: Well, I had written a half-hour script called Karma Cowboys, which was commissioned as part of a series showcasing new talent on Channel 4 and I first met Steve when he was brought aboard to direct that. Out of all the writer and director teams put together on that series, I think we were the only two who genuinely got along. When Steve moved to Scotland, I rode shotgun in a car

These used to be 'homages' to the Dirty Harry movies but soon evolved into something else and this looks at the crazy methods these movies were shot and interviews many of the brave cast and crew who made them.
Then things take a more serious turn as we witness the European Premiere of Outpost II: Black Sun. Last night was a time for mixing humour and horror as two very different but equally entertaining movies hit the big screen.
Paco Plaza's [REC]3 Genesis proved that by using comedy and moving away from the POV style of horror the series is known for you can revitalise a franchise. Because unfolds in parallel to events of the previous two episodes, it gives itself room to mature and grow in its own environment. The upshot being it's a fun, well constructed zombie flick with a belter of an ending.
And then Ross Noble, along with director Conor McMahan came on stage to tell us about their movie Stitches. To say Noble had the crowd eating out of his was an understatement. He was hilarious and his obvious enthusiasm for his movie seeped through.

Here's what the FrightFest brochure says about it: The day after a meteor lands in the ocean and a group of fisherman going missing, Garda Lisa Nolan arrives for a temporary assignment in the Irish village of Erin Island. With Garda Ciarán O'Shea she starts investigating strange occurrences happening around the remote fishing community, especially the odd looking creatures turning up in lobster traps and washing ashore. And what's not to like when a gang of oldies are battling the undead? Anyone who hasn't seen the trailer with Richard Briers in it are missing a treat. It also stars East End favourite Alan Ford who will no doubt pick up a new loyal fan base from this

| Grayson Pictures is to give a UK DVD release to the rarely seen Singaporean military chiller Curse on September 10th.
Set in on the Island of Pulau Hantu in the south of Singapore, Curse tells the terrifying tale of a military squad sent to an island to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a group of soldiers. Accidentally disturbing a burial site, they unleash a terrifying supernatural curse…
Curse is directed by Esan Sivalinhgam who said of the shoot: "We expected it to be one hell of an adventure but it turned out to be the adventure from hell". Facing torrential downpours, extreme temperatures, venomous reptiles plus censorship issues and stumbling across a real burial site, it was a miracle the film was completed in its fifteen-day schedule.
