FrightFest 2010 has officially begun with what surely must be one of the most anticipated sequels in years, Adam Green's Hatchet II. Following directly on from the first installment its a solid mixture of shocks, slaughtering and big laughs. Yes, you read that correctly, Hatchet II has a wicked sense of humour running all the way through it. But back to the horror and from the pulse pounding start to the blood-splattered ending, the film grabs the audience by the neck and refuses to let go. The set-ups are imaginative using traditional effects rather then relying on CGI which makes it feel like old school horror but with the added bonus of a decent sized budget.
Adam is here and has brought actors Tony Todd (pictured), Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder with him, one of the friendliest band of people FrightFest attendees have had the pleasure of meeting.
Up next was a teaser trailer for a movie that's yet to go into production but promises much if it does. Habeas Corpus is an anthology movie and in this short sequence has our very own Emily Booth as a rather strange young lady with a bizarre secret.
Right, off to see Primal and then the vampire/gangster movie Dead Cert.
