Just sat through the World Premiere of Alex Chandon's Inbred. The Empire was packed and it seemed like most of the cast and crew had turned up too. This bloody but fun splatterfest had the audience not only laughing along to the ever more elaborate death sequences but to the rather catchy song the yokels sing.
The festival finishes tonight with another much talked about movie and like a lot of the movies of FrightFest its another UK premiere. This one is a tense thriller directed by Julian Gilbey entitled A Lonely Place To Die.
Five mountaineers are climbing in the Scottish Highlands when they stumble across an air pipe sticking out of the forest ground emitting panicked cries from a small girl speaking Serbian. Who buried her in the earth chamber? Why? And when will her kidnappers return? The horrifying answers to all those questions will take the frightened quintet to the death-defying Devil’s Drop. To the iciest of fast-flowing river waters. To a nearby village in the midst of the pagan Beltane Fire Festival. And on the deadliest game of cat-and-mouse with the nastiest soldiers of misfortune put on screen.
Will let you know what I think of it a tad later, meanwhile got to get back to the Media Wall to see who turns up for it.
