| The gripping and truly brutal Brit-shocker Cherry Tree Lane (pictured) is getting its UK television premiere on May 25th on the Horror Channel. We decided to catch up its Director, Paul Andrew Williams about this film and his future projects.
HC: Where did the idea for Cherry Tree Lane come from?
PAW: You would read things in the news about tragic events such as this. I always wondered what it would actually be like if it happened in reality. It wouldn't be like a film, there would t be any accompanying music, and tough cop looking out for you or a panic room. It would be horrible, quick and at times terrifying as times mundane. That's the story I wanted to tell.

Jonathan Glendening To Host A Special Screening Of The Elephant Man In Brighton

| 13HRS director Jonathan Glendening will be the host of a special screening of The Elephant Man at the Duke's Komedia cinema in Brighton on June 9th. He will also hold an onstage interview with its renowned make-up artist Christopher Tucker and Simon Treves, the great-great nephew of Sir Frederick Treves, the surgeon who looked after Joseph Merrick, The Elephant Man.
The Elephant Man, directed by David Lynch, was released in 1980 and starred John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins. It tells the true tale of a badly deformed young man in Victorian London, known in the film as John Merrick, and how he is taken under the wing of kind surgeon Frederick Treves. The Elephant Man is a magnificent film and a moving experience.

| FrightFest and Movie Mogul, in association with Horror Channel, are challenging aspiring filmmakers to make a short horror film - the best six of which will be shown on Horror Channel and at the 2013 Film4 FrightFest event. Its called 666 Short Cuts To Hell Competition and the overall winner will receive a prize fund of £6,666 and the opportunity to develop a horror short or feature idea under mentorship from Movie Mogul, for a possible 2014 production.

| On Sunday May 26th Horror Channel celebrates 100 years of the birth of one of the country's most beloved actors - Peter Cushing (OBE).
Peter Cushing Centenary Day will be devoted to some of the legendary actor's finest work, picked from a film and TV career which spanned 50 years and over 80 films.
Born on 26 May 1913, Cushing's career took off in the 50s and he is probably best known for his roles for Hammer Films – in particular the sinister scientist Baron Frankenstein and the vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing.
But to younger generations he is also fondly remembered for his portrayal of Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars and for his many appearances as Sherlock Holmes.
