FrightFest Directors, Cannabalism, A Mad Monk And Afternoon Shocks - August On The Horror Channel

August on the Horror Channel is an incredibly busy month as not only are we bringing you a shedload of movie premieres we’re also celebrating FrightFest the 13th in style by having special editions of our acclaimed Director's Night series. In this series the men behind FrightFest present their favourite films from past events.
Here's the skinny on what not to miss on the Horror Channel this month.
Saturday 4th - Boy Eats Girl
Onetime Pop Princess Samantha Mumba stars in the premiere of Boy Eats Girl. In this schoolyard splatter-fest a boy's crush on a female classmate transforms into a voracious appetite for her flesh when he dies and is reanimated.
Wednesday 8th - The Brotherhood
David DeCoteau's franchise The Brotherhood comes to the Horror Channel this month. Wholesome university student Chris is seduced by a shady fraternity led by the manipulative Devon. Will Chris uncover his malicious intentions before it's too late? You can catch The Brotherhood 2: Young Warlocks on the 15th and The Brotherhood 3: Young Demons on the 22nd.
Saturday 11th - Rasputin The Mad Monk
Christopher Lee, Barbara Shelley, Richard Pasco and Joss Ackland star in Hammer's acclaimed shocker Rasputin The Mad Monk. In this biopic the legendary historical man of mystery Rasputin exerts his extraordinary powers to gain power and influence.
Friday 17th - Closed For The Season
Fancy a supernatural rollercoaster of terror? If yes then Jay Woelfel's Closed For The Season is for you. Kristy wakes to find herself lost and alone in a dilapidated theme park and must survive the haunted white-knuckle rides in order to escape.
Saturday 18th till Thursday 23rd - FrightFest Director's Nights
The team behind FrighFest pick their favourites from the festival's past 13 years and tell you why you should be watching them. Featuring Martyrs, Bad Biology, Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunt, Pontypool, Video Nasties (Moral Panic, Censorship and Video Tap) and Switchblade Romance.
Saturday 25th - Straight On Till Morning
More classic horror from Hammer in the psychological masterpiece Straight On Till Morning. Starring Rita Tushingham, Shane Briant and James Bolam a timid and naive woman named Brenda moves to London desperate for love. Once there she strikes up a relationship with Peter, a man with a killer secret.
Afternoons also contain a wealth of fear-filled fun to enjoy. Check out each Wednesday at 4pm where you can see Lost In The Bermuda Triangle, Konga, The Man Who Haunted Himself and The Headless Ghost.
