Danielle Harris is one of the most famous Scream Queens of the 21st century. Her roles in horror favourites such as Halloween 4 and Halloween 5, Hatchet and more recently in the acclaimed directorial debut from Michael Biehn, The Victim.

Danielle took time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions about her acting career and what projects she has lined up.

HC: What was it like growing up being a movie star?

DH: Ha ha. I hardly think of myself as a movie star!! I have always just been a working actress who has worked with quite a few movie stars along the way.

HC: How did you balance your education and acting work?

DH: I found that had a better education on set because I was being tutored one on one. I wasn't able to slip away in the crowd of students and disappear. It was hard though not being able to do a lot of the things that my friends were doing because I had to work though.

HC: We all got to know your work in the UK for a stream of huge movie successes such as Free Willy, The Last Boy Scout and of course Halloween 4 and 5. That must have been an amazing time in you acting career. What are you favourite memories from this period?

DH: I was just so young that I was excited to be on set and see the movies I had done on the big screen with my teenage friends in the theatre.

HC: Let's come right up to date and you've made a career for yourself in the horror genre, what is it that appeals to you so much?

DH: It kind of chose me. I have grown to love the genre because of the devoted following and small clique that I am now in that allows me to continuously lets me work with the same people.

HC: Your latest movie, The Victim is due for release here in the UK, how did you get involved with this project?

DH: Jennifer and I are long time friends so when she came to me and told me it was her and Michaels first project together with Michael directing, so I was honoured that they asked me to be part.

HC: It's directed by Michael Biehn, what was he like to work with?

DH: Crazy, passionate, lovely and honest. Whether you liked it or not ;-)

HC: You've worked on movies with various sized budgets with The Victim had only a small one, which ones are the most fun to work on?

DH: Depends on the people involved. It's kind of like dating. As a woman, if you date a man solely because he has money but there's no passion, its not worth it. All the fun moments he can afford you aren't exciting, because something's missing. Same with making movies. It's not about the pay check on small budget, therefore you get a group that wants to be there and everything is exciting because you are there's love and excitement. Everyone is there for the right reason.

HC: You've also sat in the director's chair, would you like to make more films?

DH: YES! That is where I am most inspired and challenged. Most exhausted and most fulfilled. I am on the hunt now in search of my next directing gig.

HC: What draws you to each film you make?

DH: It's just a gut feeling. Depends on where I am in my life at that moment. I take different roles for different reasons, but if I told you I'd have to kill you ;-)

HC: So what projects are you working on at the moment?

DH: Travelling the world promoting and supporting my feature directorial debut, Among Friends I'm actually sitting on the plane as I write this en route to LUND International Film festival in Sweden then off to Spain for Sitges International Film Fest. I can't wait to go meet the fans and finally be among film makers from around the world... not actors talking about who they're starring opposite in their next movie. I'm more than ready to make that jump from actor to director. Can't ya tell??!!
