The Ultimate round-up

Well as the dust settles and normal sleep patterns return its time to sit back and reflect on FrightFest 2007 and more importantly what did it do for horror fans like myself.

Well to say it delivered is like saying Joe Lynch perspires slightly (anyone who saw how hot he got before they showed his movie Wrong Turn 2 will get that gag!) Seriously this was the event that catered for the horror fan in everyway. We had Werewolves, Survival Horror, Zombies, Maniacs, Spirits, Hauntings even Killer Sheep, you name it FrightFest 2007 had it.

But what about the talent? Well again we had a huge mix, Adam Green, Uwe Boll, Joe Lynch, Reece Shearsmith, Kit Ryan and Juan Antonio Bayona to list only a handful. It was also an event where we launched our CUT! competition. This gives budding writers and directors the chance to win £5000 and see their movies on the big screen. Click on the link at the end of the blog for more information.

As for highlights well Joe Lynch and Adam Green gave the audience exactly what they wanted. Both were energetic and spoke to everyone who approached them. These guys are true stars who gave the event a cool American flavour. The Zombie Walk also gave the regulars something different to get involved in. I’ll never forget seeing a few hundred zombies storming a London tour bus, bizarre but huge fun.

I must at this point personally thank Ian, Alan, Paul and Greg from all of the Zone Horror Crew, these guys went out of their way to make sure we had access to every person that we needed. Without these four stars our reports and daily updates would have been incredibly short indeed. They make the atmosphere at FrightFest special and I for one just can’t wait for the next event.

By the way this blog won’t disappear and will remain on this site for the foreseeable future. It will also be updated with some exclusive photos taken at the event.

And there you go, 5 days, 28 movies and countless memories. Here’s to next year.
