December On The Horror Channel - Part 2
By James Whittington, Sunday 5th December 2010

Santas SlayWinter continues to hold the UK in an unceasing icy grasp but luckily the Horror Channel has some truly awesome features to warm you up. We have a cult shocker, the premier of a movie directed by a horror icon and a double bill starring a psycho snowman. All start at 22:55 unless otherwise stated and please check the online guide for any last minute changes.

Street Trash – Friday 17th December
The outrageous comedy horror Street Trash from J. Michael Muro gets it first airing and is a movie to savour. When a liquor store owner sells dodgy wine to local hobos, some melt messily right where they stand, while others attempt to fight the effects. Gross and hilarious this is very Frank Henelotter meets Troma in style with plenty to offer and is so over the top you just won’t believe what you’re seeing.

976-EVIL – Saturday 18th December
Directed by Robert Englund this is a mix of hack n’ slash and paranormal possession movies and is just perfect Saturday night viewing. A reclusive nerd discovers a novelty phone line that's a hotline straight to Satan and revels in the power he is given, but at what cost? Loaded with juicy effects and a nice line in humour it’s a shame that Mr Englund doesn’t use his talents as a director more.

Boa Vs Python – Wednesday 22nd December
Fans of our recent showing of Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus won’t want to miss this premiere of a creature feature that’s destined to become a favourite with Horror Channel viewers. Directed by David Flores it concerns an 80-foot python that's loose in a big city. An FBI agent and a snake expert come up with the genius idea of unleashing a genetically modified boa constrictor to kill it. Well, can you guess what happens?

Santa’s Slay/Silent Night Deadly Night – Friday 24th December
This double bill of seasonal slaughter starts at 21:00 with the festive fright flick Santa’s Slay (pictured). It stars wrestling superstar Bill Goldberg as a demon who lost a bet that consigned him to duty as Santa Claus. But that bet is over and he's about to unleash jingle bell hell! This is followed at 22:55 by the classic slasher movie Silent Night Deadly Night where a man who saw his parents murdered by a criminal in a Santa suit as a child dons the yuletide garb himself to wreak bloody havoc on those he deems "the naughty ones".

Jack Frost/Jack Frost 2 – Saturday 25th December
Another seasonal double bill this time though the main protagonist is a snowman with a mind filled with murder! Jack Frost (at 21:00) stars American Pie babe Shannon Elizabeth, who gets to share an unforgettable bathtub scene with a dead serial killer who now happens to be a psychopathic vengeful snowman. In the sequel Jack Frost 2 at 22:55 a Sheriff and his friends and family opt for a Christmas in the Caribbean, only to find there is no escape from the sinister snowman.

The Breed – Friday 31st December
The blood-soaked futuristic action movie The Breed will help you to welcome in 2011 with a bang. Starring Highlander’s Adrian Paul and Ling Bai (who starred in The Crow and Nixon) the film is set in a future where vampires live alongside humans in apparent peace. But a shadowy menace is at large leaving victims drained of blood. This is a cracking, action infused horror that packs a bloody punch and will keep any horror themed party going.

FrightFest Logo 2018

Team FrightFest has finally revealed Graham Humphreys' anticipated poster for this year's event.

The stunning artwork for this year's annual Bank Holiday event, the UK's largest celebration of genre cinema, taking place at Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema between Thursday August 23rd and Monday August 27th.

For Graham, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' seemed too important to ignore: "In the same way that Frankenstein gave life to his monster, horror films stimulate our imagination and give form to ideas that otherwise dare not leave the shadows", he commented. "The painting shows our familiar host enjoying ...

Blu-ray cover for Attack of the Aduly Babies

Attack of the Adult Babies

Nucleus Films

Certificate 18

Dom Brunt's bizarre and genre breaking Attack of the Adult Babies delivered one of the most inventive and gross-out pieces at Horror Channel FrightFest 2017. No one could have guessed what this movie was going to be about and let's just say it split the audience right down the middle. It's a stomach punch of satire, horror and surreal comedy that takes time to sink in so this Blu-ray edition is the perfect opportunity to watch the film several times, so you can "get" what the message is and that all the weird stuff going on means something in the end!
