Horror Channel to be possessed by Shudder on July 6th!

Horror film streaming service Shudder will take control of the Horror Channel schedule on Friday 6th July from 9pm to showcase some of the exclusive movies you can find on the service. They've curated an evening of their finest slices of fear to give you a taste of what Shudder has to offer.

The quartet of shockers are the celebrated zombie road movie It Stains the Sands Red which stars Brittany Allen, the cabin-in-the-woods dark comedy Dead Shack, Steven DeGennaro's meta movie masterpiece Found Footage 3D, and The Ring meets The Grudge for the ultimate horror face-off in Sadako Vs. Kayako.

We'll be tweeting along to all these movies so join us for 9pm for a taste of Shudder, the unexpected awaits.

Classic Carpenter now in 4K

John Carpenter 4K ReleasesSTUDIOCANAL is celebrating the celebrate the work of the master of '80s sci-fi, fantasy and horror, John Carpenter, with the announcement of brand new 4K restorations of some of his most iconic titles: The Fog, They Live, Escape From New York and Prince Of Darkness. All four brand new 4K restorations were done using the original camera negatives, with the colour grading approved for the new restorations and UHD versions by the films' Cinematographers: Gary B Kibbe and Dean Cundey.

This Autumn, fans had the rare opportunity to experience the spectacle of Carpenter's much-loved cult classics on the big screen looking better than ever.

Victoria Price is coming to Birmingham's Cine Excess cult film event that runs 8th - 10th November. Daughter of the legndary screen actor Vincent Price, she is set to celebrate both her father's work in film as well as his culinary skills. A short season of Vincent's films will be screened alongside a cookery demonstration based on some of the favourite recipes from his legendary book, A Treasury of Great Recipes. Warner Bros are releasing 14 of their classic and more modern horror titles with brand new, rather stylish packaging and just in time for Halloween!

Titles on Blu-ray and DVD include The Exorcist, The Shinning, A Nightmare on Elm Street, IT, Poltergeist, The Conjuring and Annabelle but as we're having a Hammer Classics Season in November I thought I'd point out three titles that will be of interest to any fan of the famous studio; Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, Taste the Blood of Dracula and Dracula A.D. 1972 (all on DVD only).

Forming part of our Haunted Halloween Season The Fog is one of John Carpenter's most celebrated pieces of cinema.

Fans of the movie need to know that a special edition 7" will be unleashed on red vinyl thanks to those lovely people at Silva Screen Records.

Carpenter's 1980 follow-up film to his smash hit Halloween featured ghost sailors terrorizing a Californian coastal community as a dense fog descends on their homes. The multi-talented filmmaker's atmospheric synthesiser score has long been a soundtrack favourite and this 7" single features its two most recognisable themes.

Limited to a run of 500 copies the single will be released on 30th November.
