By James W, Wednesday 6th August 2014
The UK creator of the critically acclaimed London Horror Comic series will premiere a new ongoing title this summer.
Graveyard Orbit will launch the second title from London-based comic book creator, John-Paul Kamath, and cover genres as diverse as romance, science fiction, drama and comedy in comics form.
Each issue of the comic will tell one complete story but will change genres, characters and subject matter with subsequent issues.
The creative influence behind the Graveyard Orbit comic stems from popular UK television and radio formats like A Play for Today, The Afternoon Drama and Armchair Theatre – self-contained long-form dramas that look at contemporary issues and characters.
Kamath, the book’s writer and publisher, also said that feedback from readers on his first short story anthology title, London Horror Comic, had pointed towards interest in him penning longer character-driven stories.
“Readers enjoy the quick jolts and turns of plot that London Horror Comic delivers and have increasingly been asking if I’d consider doing something longer,” said Kamath.
“What’s more, I’m finding that at comic conventions, I’m typically selling to more of a non-comics crowd: people that have turned up for the day and have picked up a comic of mine because it’s not capes and cowls and offers them something different.”
Coupled with the thriving small press scene and convention circuit in the UK now in place, Kamath said he felt the conditions were right to launch a second title, while still continuing the London Horror Comic series, which is now in its eighth-year of publication.
Graveyard Orbit #1 will be a full-colour comic, 28 pages with no ads and retail for £4.00 from select comic shops and conventions around the UK and online from the publisher’s website from Wednesday August 13th, 2014.
A special launch signing will take place at Orbital Comics in London on August 13th, with the first 25 customers purchasing Graveyard Orbit #1 in store receiving a limited edition print.

On October 22nd comes Rome-based bloodshed in the shape of Umberto Lenzi's legendary and never-before-available slice and dicer Nightmare Beach!
As any self-respecting horror-hound will know, Lenzi gave audiences some of the most notorious video nasties including his legendary gut-crunchers The Man From Deep River (1972) and Cannibal Ferox (1981). However, the maestro of macabre, stomach-churning images was rightly most proud of his giallo classics - most famously represented by the colourful intrigue of Spasmo (1974) and the gruelling gore of Eyeball (1975).
For Nightmare Beach, released in 1988, Lenzi would claim that a troubled production...SHARE: READ MORE It's time to go back to Drearcliff

88 Films are giving another genre classic the special treatment on the 15th October, Two Evil Eyes (1990), the second collaboration (following the classic Dawn of the Dead) for directors Dario Argento (Suspiria) and the late, great George Romero (Creepshow).
This time around, the totemic twosome chose to adapt a story from the eerie oeuvre of Edgar Allan Poe. Make no mistake: the end result brings together the very best of the United States independent sector with the kingpin of things giallo - with Romero taking on the subtle chills of 'The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar' and Argento facing the claws and paws of 'The Black Cat'!
