By Emily Booth, Monday 14th August 2017

It's that time again!
I cannot believe it is nearly a year since I was presenting at FrightFest which moved to Shepherds Bush temporarily, but is now back at its true 'Dark Heart' the Cineworld and Prince Charles in Leicester Square and I am so excited to read about this years line up and returning FrightFest favourite guests Joe Lynch and Adam Green (cheeky boys those two!)
.For starters the festival organisers have decided to open the 5 day event with a real crowd-pleaser as everyone's favourite pott--mouthed demonic doll is back in Cult Of Chucky. This time the one and only star Jennifer Tilly is in attendance too alongside director Don Mancini and Fiona Dourif. Lets face it, the world has become a little depressing of late so I think this really will lift everyone's spirit and remind us that horror is best kept on screen, and that horror is pure escapism! For more on the line up check here.
In celebration of FrightFest becoming an official adult and reaching it's 18th birthday Horror Channel is putting on it's own FrightFest Season, 13 nights of double bills featuring films that made their first big impact at the festival. The Season is going to be a blast introduced by my good self alongside festival organisers Alan Jones, Paul McEvoy, Ian Rattray and Greg Day, so don't miss FrightFest Season starting August Friday 18th at 9pm.

Issued on limited edition white vinyl is Max Richter's emotive and minimal score to Damon Lindelof's TV series The Leftovers which is about a post-apocalyptic global event where 2% of the world's population disappears without explanation. Richter's approach explores the feelings of the protagonist's family, the Garveys, through intimate, small-scale music.
He tackles this psychological landscape by bringing a ritual quality to the score, while themes of departure and loss are represented by a sense of sonic decay, relying on the instrumentation of a few sustained tones on pianos, harps and celesta.
Max Richter is a classically trained composer that defies bo...
